Trae Young Wore ‘King of Broadway’ Shoes In Blowout Loss, And NBA Twitter Roasted Him

 

In the 2021 playoffs, Trae Young became the enemy of New York City, when he ended the Knicks’ hopes of making some noise in the playoffs with his incredible performances, while provoking the crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Young not only got insulted by the fans, he also was spat on and responded by destroying the Knicks.

A couple of months later, Young was back at the Garden. During WWE Smackdown, Trae Young made his WWE debut and unlike the many NBA players appearing on one of the brand’s shows before, he made his debut as a heel and obviously was met with numerous boos.

His performances as enemy of the Knicks have led to Knicks fans starting ‘Trae Young sucks’ chants, whenever he’s played against them since.

During yesterday’s game in Madison Square Garden, the point guard was seen wearing shoes with the words “King of Broadway” on them, as a sign of his confidence at beating the Knicks whenever he can.

While the shoes looked great, and his bold message is appreciated, as we all enjoy a rivalry here and there, it didn’t end as planned, as Young and the Knicks had to suffer a huge 113 to 89 loss.

Young himself shot 9-of-20 from field (zero makes from three) in a 19 point, six-assist performance with four rebounds and four turnovers. This is not an awful stat line but it’s far from being the “King of Broadway”.

This performance led to NBA Twitter roasting the All-Star for his bold message on the shoes, while not delivering:
