DeAndre Ayton Says Recent Loss Against The Pelicans Doesn’t Count: “I Don’t Care About No Regular Season Game”
The Phoenix Suns took on the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday and suffered yet another defeat, dropping their second game against them with a score of 124-129. Zion Williamson was unstoppable as he put up 35 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists while going 2 out of 3 from deep to lead the Pelicans.
The Suns were missing their All-Star shooting guard Devin Booker, but they still came close with DeAndre Ayton leading the way, who finished the game with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists on an efficient 72.2% shooting from the field.
Now, despite what has been a disappointing result for the Suns, DeAndre Ayton has made it known that he’s not worried about a regular season loss and exclaimed that they’re working toward becoming a better team in the NBA playoffs.
“You can’t tell me it’s frustrating when I play hard as hell. Do the best you can and the results are the results. This is regular season. At the end of the day we’re working on ourselves. I don’t care about no regular season game.”
“It don’t really count and at the end of the day, my team and I, we’re working on our damn selves. We don’t have time for this extra shit. We’re working on ourselves for the postseason. That’s it. Everybody wants to make this a thing about regular season. So be it. Go ahead.”
