Nikola Jokic Became First Player To Receive The New Michael Jordan MVP Trophy Last Night
Nikola Jokic has taken the last two MVP awards for his dominant efforts with the Denver Nuggets.
Last season, the Serbian center was on a roll, putting up monstrous numbers of 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game on 58.3% shooting from the field. He lead the Nuggets to the sixth seed in the Western Conference while missing two of their scoring weapons in Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.
After last night’s win over the Washington Wizards, Nikola Jokic, who had an MVP like 43 points on 17 of 20 shooting while adding 14 rebounds, eight assists and five steals, now was the first player to be presented with the new NBA MVP trophy. Coach Michael Malone gave Jokic the Michael Jordan MVP trophy in the locker room while his teammates cheered for Jokic.
