Dwane Casey Thinks Bojan Bogdanovic Is An All-Star, Compares Him To Dirk Nowitzki And Kevin Garnett
Although the Detroit Pistons are going through a rough season, Bojan Bogdanovic continues to be a bright spot. At 33 years old, Bogdanovic is averaging a career-high in points with 21.1 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game on 49.3% shooting from the field.
The 33-year old offensive forward came to the Pistons ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season as a part of the return package in the trade that sent Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee to the Utah Jazz. He’s a career 39.3% three-point shooter and has been a valuable asset for every team he’s been on.
Now, in the midst of a standout season, Pistons head coach Dwane Casey now backs Bogdanovic to be considered as a worthy All-Star candidate this season while vouching for his offensive talent by putting him in the same tier as Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett and DeMar DeRozan.
“I hope people don’t look at our record as a rebuilding team & punish him. To me, Bogey’s an All-Star. I’ve coached a lot of offensive players in my career — Nowitzki, DeRozan, Kevin Garnett. Offensively, he’s right up there with those guys.”
