Ja Morant Doubles Down On His Claim That He’s Not Worried About Other Teams In The Western Conference
Despite their second-round exit from the NBA playoffs last season, Ja Morant’s confidence remains at an all-time high about their chances against anyone in the West this season.
When speaking to Malika Andrews of ESPN recently, Morant told that no other team in the Western worries him while bringing up the Boston Celtics, currently East’s first seed, as the only potential roadblock for their championship quest.
Malika Andrews: “Who do you look at around the league as you’re studying and say, ‘We’re gonna have to run through them?'”
Ja Morant: “Celtics”
Malik Andrews: “No one in the West.”
Ja Morant: “Nah. I’m fine in the West.”

The Grizzlies have gotten off to an impressive 20-11 start, but are specifically just 9-8 against West teams so far this season. That being said, Morant still reaffirmed his belief that he’s ‘fine in the West’ during a shootaround on Friday.
Ja Morant was asked about his “I’m fine in the west” comments at shootaround.
Ja: “And I’m standing on that. I stamp it,” he said.
Reporter: What about the Suns?
Ja: “They are in the Western Conference, right? I said I was fine in the Western Conference.”
