Former NBA Star Jared Jeffries Wins Car On ‘The Price Is Right’

 

Jared Jeffries is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 11 seasons. He was drafted by the Washington Wizards with the 11th overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, and played for several teams throughout his career, including the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.

Jeffries began his career with the Wizards, where he played for four seasons. He was known primarily as a defensive player, and was a regular contributor off the bench for the team. He was not a major offensive threat, averaging only 4.1 points per game during his time with the Wizards, but he was a solid rebounder and shot blocker.

In 2006, Jeffries was traded to the New York Knicks, where he played for five seasons. During this time, he established himself as one of the best defensive players in the league, and was a key contributor to the team’s defense. He also became a fan favorite due to his hard work and hustle on the court. However, his offensive game didn’t develop much.

After his time with the Knicks, Jeffries played for the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers before returning to the Wizards for his final season. Despite his solid defensive play, his offensive numbers remained unimpressive. He retired from the NBA in 2013.

Overall, Jared Jeffries’ career in the NBA can be considered as a solid one, he was known as a defensive specialist throughout his career, contributing to his teams’ defensive efforts. While he was not known as a major offensive threat, his rebounding and shot-blocking ability made him a valuable role player. He may not have put up big numbers, but he was respected by his coaches, teammates and opponents alike for his blue-collar work ethic and defensive versatility.

Jeffries now was able to realize one of his lifelong dreams, in becoming a contestant in an episode on the Price Is Right. The big man took part in the ‘One Away’ segment and even won big time, as he was able to managing to pinpoint the price for the car ($22,376) by changing the penultimate digit, therefore winning the car.
