George Karl Emphasizes Key Similarity Of Nikola Jokic With Michael Jordan And Shaquille O’Neal
Nikola Jokic has put together a strong season so far with averages of 25.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.7 assists per game on 61.6% shooting from the field. He has also led the way for the Denver Nuggets who are currently sitting first in the Western Conference at 27-13.
The two-time league MVP has been nothing short of extraordinary, and this has gotten him a fair share of respect and compliments from a number of basketball pundits and personalities from in and outside the NBA.
George Karl, the Hall of Fame head coach, sent a massive praise in Jokic’s direction as he observed that the Serbian big man has a similarity with Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal in terms of being extremely difficult to game plan against.
“I’ve been watching Jokic for six seasons now. I think the best thing I can say about him is I still have no idea how I would cover him.
The two other times I’ve felt that was against Michael and Shaq.”
