Shaquille O’Neal Declares Himself As The Most Dominant Player Of All-Time: “Don’t Say Nobody Else’s Name”
Every all-time great sitting at the very top of the NBA hierarchy solidified their spot by dominating their era, accumulating a number of individual accomplishments, and winning as many championships as possible. Shaquille O’Neal was one player who managed to put all these things together.
O’Neal was an unstoppable force who dominated almost every player who tried to guard him on the basketball court. His dominance was such that he also captured an MVP, two scorings titles, 15 All-Star game nods, 14 All-NBA honors, three All-Defensive selections, four NBA championships and three Finals MVPs in his career.
O’Neal’s career easily warrants himself being called one of the best players of all-time. But according to the Hall of Fame big man, he would rather be called the most dominant player of all-time than be associated with all-time great rankings where he isn’t the No.1 player on the list.
“If I’m not the number one guy don’t bring my name up,” Shaq on all-time great rankings. “Listen to what I’m telling you all, you know what green berets are. That’s how I was trained.”
“I’m not soft. My father from little kid ‘if you ain’t number one, I don’t want to hear it’ I have my own category, like we all got a different category like him [points at Crawford]. Top, two in the best handles ever. Top Two! Like me one of the most dominant. That’s my category.”
“When it comes to the most dominant of all time, say my name and say my name like Destiny’s Child and don’t say nobody else’s name.”
If Shaq’s not the No. 1 guy, he doesn’t wanna hear it
