Shannon Sharpe Says Grizzlies Didn’t Want The Smoke, LeBron James Takes Sharpe’s Side

Football Hall of Famer and sports media personality Shannon Sharpe was part of an altercation with the entire Memphis Grizzlies team and Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, last night during the Grizzlies’ game in Los Angeles against the Lakers.

Sharpe was sitting courtside, and just before halftime, things escalated between Sharpe, Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant, leading to Steven Adams first, and then the entire Grizzleis roster charging towards Sharpe, while arena security was trying to hold them back.

We all know that Shannon Sharpe is one of the biggest LeBron James fans on this planet. Sharpe also is the ringleader of the ‘LeBron is the GOAT’ movement. This also was partly what caused the altercation – Sharpe told Brooks he “was too small to guard LeBron”.

Sharpe told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin that none of the Grizzlies players wanted any smoke.

“They didn’t want this smoke, Dave,” Sharpe told ESPN. “They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain’t about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron. He said, ‘F***’ me. I said, ‘F*** you’ back. He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’

“And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now.”

After halftime things cooled down, and Sharpe and Tee Morant were able to clear the air.

Meanwhile, LeBron James also was asked about the altercation and Shannon Sharpe post-game and made it clear whose side he’s on.

“I ride with Shannon 365 days of the year, and 366 on a leap year. That’s my guy!”
