Shannon Sharpe Issues Apology On Undisputed For His Altercation With The Memphis Grizzlies

NFL Hall of Famer and Fox Sports commentator Shannon Sharpe made headlines on Friday after he got into a heated altercation with Ja Morant’s father Tee Morant and other Memphis Grizzlies players right after the second quarter of the Grizzlies-Lakers game.

Apparently, it all started with a chatter with Dillon Brooks. According to Sharpe, he told Brooks that he was too small to guard LeBron James, but the 26-year old didn’t take it lightly and decided to curse him up.

“It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron,” Sharpe said to ESPN. “He said, ‘F—’ me and I said ‘F— you’ back,” he added.

“He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’ Then Ja came out of nowhere. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now.”

Sharpe had to be escorted by security away from the courtside and was forced to spend the halftime in the tunnel before returning to his seat for the third quarter and finishing the rest of the game. The TV personality faced a lot of backlash following the altercation and has now issued an official apology, while saying he was wrong.

“I take full responsibility for what transpired. It does not matter what Dillon Brooks said or how many times he said it. Me being the responsible person, me having the platform I have, and having so many people look up to me, I was wrong. I should have lowered the temperature in the arena. Instead, I turned the temperature up, and I let it get out of hand.

I’ve preached for six-and-a-half years responsibility and accountability, and I take full responsibility for what transpired. It does not matter what Dillon Brooks said or how many times he said it, me being the responsible person, me having the platform that I have, and having so many people look up to me, I was wrong.”
