John Wall Gets Honest On Today’s NBA: “It’s So Easy Now, It’s Switch Everything 1-5”

The NBA is drastically different from what it was even a decade ago. Scoring is up and the three-point shot has become more of a focus. Players are also better, stronger and more athletic because of the constant progress of training, nutrition and wider talent pool.

For better or worse, there are more changes in today’s NBA that come to one’s mind. But for Los Angeles Clippers point guard John Wall, one thing that drew ire is the fact that NBA teams are switching so often in order to hunt mismatches.

As one would expect, it’s been a common theme for older players to compare eras, and Wall, who entered the league in 2010, seemingly adopted the same perspective. Appearing in a recent interview, the five-time All-Star exclaimed that the NBA is so easy now, with the switch-everything approach becoming a basic offense of choice.

“Don’t get me wrong, these young motherf—— in the game now is nice but… the NBA and college.. it’s so easy now… it’s switch everything 1-5, find your worst matchup and go at him….we had to go through real systems.”
