Ben Simmons Sent Legal Letter To Ex-Fiancé, Demanding The Return Of $1 Million Engagement Ring
After being drafted as the No.1 overall pick, Ben Simmons was penciled in as a franchise cornerstone for the Philadelphia 76ers alongside superstar big man Joel Embiid. That seemed the case before Simmons flamed out against the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA playoffs.
Simmons’ career then took a wild turn from there. Eventually, the three-time All-Star was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for former MVP James Harden at the trade deadline last season.
While playing well on defense, while also still having a good eye for his teammates as a playmaker, Simmons still struggles to shoot from basically anywhere on the court.
So things aren’t necessarily perfect for Simmons – not only on-court, but also off. Simmons and his fiacé, Maya Jama split recently, with the reason being that both wanted to concentrate on their careers. But in a what seems to be pretty petty move, Ben Simmons now wants the ring back.
The Nets star has reportedly sent Jama a legal letter demanding that she return the engagement ring, that is worth $1 million. Jama said she never intended to keep the ring and was caught off guard by the demand letter.
Per Daily Mail:
“This was the first time that she has been asked by Ben to return it and, for the avoidance of any doubt, she has never refused to return it,”
The Daily Mail confirmed with Maya’s representatives that she is making arrangements to return the ring.
