The Los Angeles Lakers have found themselves in a difficult position at this point of the season. Starting their campaign with a 2-10 record, the Lakers are now barely crawling into the playoff picture, sitting at No. 11 in the Western Conference with a 31-34 record.

In addition, the Lakers are in a crucial stretch while missing the production of 38-year old Lakers superstar LeBron James who is out indefinitely due to ankle injury. Newcomer D’Angelo Russell also suffered an ankle injury and has already missed the team’s last five games.

The Lakers have a hole behind LeBron, and the team is looking for possible ways to mitigate the damage. Following this train of thought, sources now say that the Lakers are eyeing former Charlotte Hornets star Kemba Walker.

Walker last played for the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season where he averaged 8.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game on 42.1% shooting from the field in just 16 minutes of playing time. The 32-year old point guard appeared in nine games before getting waived by the team.

Per Lakers Daily:

“Sources tell Lakers Daily that the Lakers are considering bringing in Kemba Walker for a workout,” Dewey wrote. “The team is looking for another ball-handler with LeBron James expected to miss extended time due to a foot injury.”
