The Miami Heat had a storybook ending to the 2013 NBA Finals, and that wouldn’t have been possible without the miracle clutch three-pointer by Ray Allen in Game 6 of the series that saved the Heat from getting knocked off by the San Antonio Spurs.

The Heat had the chance to tie the game as the Spurs were leading 95-92 in the waning seconds of the regulation. After LeBron James missed a three-pointer, Chris Bosh picked up the rebound and passed it to Allen in the corner, who flung a three-pointer that fell through to tie the game up. The Heat eventually won the game and went on to win the championship in Game 7.

Allen’s Game 6 shot is one of the most iconic moments in NBA history. Former Heat point guard and Allen’s former teammate Mario Chalmers now talked about it and interestingly said that he would’ve made the shot as well if he had the opportunity over Allen.

“I was wide open. I wanted the shot…I would’ve definitely made it… would’ve been all net.”
