In Sunday’s Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Lakers stole home court advantage with their 128-112 win.
While Anthony Davis played brilliantly, the main spotlight was on Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, who led the Lakers in scoring. Especially Reaves was insanely clutch and took over in the fourth quarter. These performances led to LeBron James being able to have a somewhat unusually quiet day, while still dishing out multiple assists.
Davis however has been injury prone his entire career and also had a scare when injuring his shoulder in Game 1, that led to him leaving the game momentarily, and LeBron is 38 years old. These two realities led to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham being asked if either of them would have their workloads restricted for fear of injuries. Ham had a pretty hilarious response.
“I love being alive, so there will be zero restrictions on LeBron and AD.”
Darvin Ham on if there are any restrictions on LeBron and AD workload-wise in the playoffs: “I love being alive, so there will be zero restrictions on LeBron and AD.”
