Today is Dennis Rodman’s 62nd birthday, time to throw it back to some of his craziest stories.
As you may know, Rodman and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are good friends. Rodman was in North Korea numerous times and got publicly criticized for it.
When Dennis Rodman was guest on Mike Tyson’s Hot Boxin’ podcast a few years ago, he revealed how the unlikely bromance started and described wild party nights with various women and alcohol.
“He [Kim Young Un] asked ‘Do you like my country?’ and I said ‘yeah, it’s cool, it’s fine, it’s okay’.
He said ‘I love basketball!’ I said, ‘that’s fine, I love it too’. He said, ‘I’m so glad you’re here. We asked Michael Jordan to come but he wouldn’t come so we asked you…’
… The game’s over, I go with him, we go into a room with like 7o people around the wall sitting there… you know, politicians and sh*t. So he says to me ‘Dennis, we would love you to come back, we enjoy your company, let’s have dinner tonight. A little karaoke and have some vodka, some hotties and stuff like this’. So I say ‘ok, great!’ Next thing I know, we go to dinner and we get drunk as sh*t, he starts singing karaoke and I have no clue what the f**k he’s talking about. Everybody’s clapping and this 18-piece women’s band, these girls are f**king hot hot.
The whole time, they play one f**king song. It was the theme from Dallas. I was like ‘What the fuck?! What is this all about?’ He said ‘that’s all we know’. Before I left I was like ‘let me tell you something! Here are seven songs I want you guys to play next time I come here; Pearl Jam, Van Halen, this, this, this, Rolling Stones…’ ‘Ok great!’ I go back the next time, they played all those damn songs. We’ve been really good friends after that.”
