On Friday night, the Miami Heat defeated the New York Knicks 96-92 in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series to advance to the conference finals.
The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler, who had 24 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Bam Adebayo added 23 points and nine rebounds, and Kyle Lowry chipped in 11 points, nine assists, three steals, and one block.
The Knicks were led by Julius Randle, who had 15 points on 3-for-14 shooting, including 1-for-7 on 3-pointers. RJ Barrett was just 1-for-10 for 11 points.
The Heat’s defense was the difference in the series. They held the Knicks to 38% shooting from the field and 29% from 3-point range. The Knicks also turned the ball over 17 times in Game 6.
Since the Heat were able to get the job done at home, they didn’t have to travel to New York City for a decisive Game 7. This fact now led to some additional trash talk by the Heat’s social media manager.
“Since we’re not going back to New York any time soon, thought we’d share some of our favorite spots from the last trip.”
