French unicorn Victor Wembanyama is going to be a member of 2023’s NBA draft class, and the Spurs received the number one overall pick in yesterday’s NBA Draft Lottery.

At 7’4″ and blessed with athleticism that belies his height, Wembanyama could turn the drifting team into a contender in his rookie season.

Wembanyama has been at the top of the NBA radar and has wowed fans due to his unique combination of size, athleticism and skill. He can push the ball up the court seamlessly, can shoot the ball beyond three-point line and can protect the rim on the other end while towering over anyone with his 7-foot-4 height and 8-foot wingspan.

And the Spurs seem to be the perfect fit. Not only do they have a young and talented core, but also plenty of picks, a great culture and one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. Additionally, the Spurs rostered French stars Tony Parker and Boris Diaw for a long period of time.

Wemby himself seemingly loved that the Spurs won the lottery. But Wemby also loved not having to go to the Houston Rockets.

Houston Rockets rookie Jabari Smith saw the video and tweeted a one-emoji response to the clip of Wembanyama’s reaction:
