After fighting their way back from being down 0-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals to force a deciding Game 7, the Boston Celtics didn’t reach the NBA Finals this season despite being touted as heavy favorites over the Miami Heat.
But of course, the Celtics can only look forward and hope to remain as perennial title contenders next season.
Following Game 3 of the major upset to the Heat however, Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck reportedly destroyed his players. According to a report by The Athletic, Grousbeck stormed into the team’s locker room after and tore into the players, demanding that they “play with some balls.”
After a 128-102 Game 3 loss to the Heat, Celtics’ managing partner Wyc Grousbeck went off on the team.
His message that players need to “play with some balls” left the locker room stunned, several team sources told The Athletic.
