Former 6th man of the year, Lamar Odom was a key player in the Los Angeles Lakers’ back-to-back championship runs in 2009, and 2010.
But after his basketball career, Odom’s life took a drastic swing as he was fighting drug and alcohol addictions that almost cost his life. On October 13, 2015, Odom was hospitalized and placed into an induced coma for more than two weeks after he was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada. Odom also suffered kidney failure, 12 strokes and two heart-attacks during the incident.
Today, Odom, who physically recovered well, is happy to be alive and his life has turned for the better again, to a point, where the NBA Champion is able to help others who also fight addiction. Odom is now owning several rehab centers, and plans on opening more.
The former Laker is currently helping Bam Margera with his addiction, and has vowed to be highly involved with all the patients at his facilities.
Per TMZ:
Lamar Odom is helping Bam Margera through every step of his detox and rehab process, even sitting bedside with the former “Jackass” star as he works to get better.
Our sources say Lamar was there as Bam was discharged from a psych hold Wednesday and immediately got him into detox at one of his own facilities.
