We all had been patiently waiting ever since Adam Silver’s Ja Morant statement before the start of the NBA Finals. Then yesterday, the NBA finally released a statement about Morant’s suspension.
According to a press release by the NBA, Morant is facing a 25-game suspension for once again wielding a firearm on social media. The NBA also stated that his return to action is connected to certain requirements.
Just like last time, the National Basketball Player’s Association still is not a fan of the All-Star’s punishment. Tamika Tremaglio, the director of the NBPA, issued a statement saying the player’s association will be challenging the NBA’s ruling on Morant.
“As to the discipline imposed, which keeps him off the corut until December and requires some unstated conditions to be met before he can return, we believe it is excessive and inappropriate for a number of reasons including the facts involved in this particular incident, and that it is not fair and consistent with past discipline in our league. We will explore with Ja all options and next steps.”
