Being a coach in the NBA is never easy. When things don’t go as planned, it’s just that easy to point fingers at coaches and blame them instead of the players. Even long-tenured and championship coaches aren’t safe from scrutiny.

This year, the NBA has seen a sudden wave of coach firings as teams look to improve and address their failures over the season. Notable fired coaches include Doc Rivers, Monty Williams, Mike Budenholzer and Nick Nurse.

Appearing on “The Shop”, 2016 NBA champion and current Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue now shared his thoughts on coaches getting fired and opened up how coaches have such a low margin of error compared to the players.

“A coach makes 1 mistake or 2 mistakes, he gets fired? But a player can have 7 turnovers, 4-for-15… You keep firing good coaches, keep blaming the coaches. Everybody’s gonna make mistakes.”
