Victor Wembanyama has officially become a member of the San Antonio Spurs. The highly-touted center from France showcased a diverse skill set and exceptional physical attributes, which made him the consensus favorite to go No.1.

The French standout has generated massive buzz in recent months. Now, both fans and pundits alike are eagerly anticipating his NBA debut in the upcoming season, curious to see if he can meet the high expectations and establish himself as a budding star, as the hype surrounding him suggests.

In San Antonio, Wembanyama will be learning under one of the greatest coaches of all-time, Gregg Popovich. After his first couple of training sessions and practices with the Spurs, the big man now revealed that he is surprised about how much Pop is working out himself, as well as the fact that he hasn’t gotten yelled at, yet.

“He works out more than I thought. Every morning he’s there, running on the treadmill, lifting weights. Other than that, he communicates a lot with me and doesn’t want me to make… he wants to take care of me and wants to avoid me making some mistakes. He’s really present and it’s really comfortable…

I thought I would experience the yelling a bit earlier. I haven’t yet, but I’m ready.”
