Trae Young and Luka Doncic are two standout players in the NBA. Having been part of the same draft and traded for each other on draft night, the two players will always be on a collision course in basketball conversations.
Much has been discussed about this debate. Young won over many fans when he came through in a big way and propelled the Atlanta Hawks to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals. However, the current chatter among most NBA circles indicates that Doncic is often seen as the better player.
The 24-year old Hawk point guard recently spoke on The Draymond Green Show and discussed the frequent comparisons to the Dallas Mavericks superstar. Not mincing words, Young expressed that he isn’t bothered by these comparisons and feels that a championship win would help people realize his value.
“I don’t even stress over it no more. I know the real ones get it. I feel like for me, once I win a championship it’ll even open up more eyes to what I’ve really done. Especially to some of my peers that I’m compared with… To be honest with you, I have no hate towards nobody, especially Luka. We talk all the time. We got a lot of love for each other, a lot of respect for each other. There’s different agendas and the way people look at certain people is different. To be honest, I don’t get caught up into it.”
