We all know that Kevin Garnett was the master of trash-talking. Young players and rookies had to be especially scared of the trash-talking big man.

Steven Adams, who celebrates his birthday today, obviously was aware of that when he first came into the NBA. But in order to not get trash-talked by Kevin Garnett, he thought of a funny, yet brilliant idea. He just pretended to not speak English:

“He’s got this presence about him. It’s intimidating. And he doesn’t talk to me at all. I played the English card one time. He said something, and I was just like, ‘Uh, no English. No English, man. Sorry.’ And so, he kind of left me alone, which is brilliant.”
