The USA’s 2023 basketball team is a hotbed of young NBA stars. A few of these include notable players such as Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Jaren Jackson Jr., Brandon Ingram and Paolo Banchero taking the spotlight.

Considering the buzz around these athletes, The Athletic conducted an informal poll where players from the Team USA roster voted for the standout among them. The tally revealed that Jaren Jackson Jr. had earned the most votes, taking his position as the most impressive player in their four-day Las Vegas training camp.

Jackson is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and was an All-Star last season with averages of 18.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game on 50.6% shooting from the field. Given his credentials, this recognition from his Team USA teammates hardly comes as a surprise.

But in an interesting twist, Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards went against the grain in the poll. Opting for an unconventional pick, Edwards picked Josh Hart, a reliable role player from the New York Knicks, over the host of stars that make up the Team USA roster.

“I’d say Josh Hart. He’s just always consistent, you know he’s going to bring that energy every day.”
