After losing to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers made smart moves in the offseason, adding new talents such as Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Taurean Prince and Cam Reddish, while retaining key players like Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura.
The Lakers are generating considerable buzz as the new season approaches, not just for the revamped roster but also for the anticipated return to better health of superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who both struggled with injuries last year.
Byron Scott, a former Lakers player and head coach, recently weighed in on the team’s outlook for next season. Speaking to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy, Scott was positive about the team’s potential and the roster that Rob Pelinka assembled, indicating that the Lakers look poised for a Finals run next year if they stay healthy.
“I like ‘em. Love what they did in the offseason… I’ll be surprised if they’re not in the NBA Finals barring injuries… very excited about the Purple and Gold this year,” Scott said.
