In 1994, Fireworks triggered San Antonio indoor stadium, Alamodome’s sprinkler system, sending a high-pressure torrent of water, a reported 12,000 gallons, over fans, players and coaches at a game between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors.
The 1994 NBA season-opener had to be delayed for about one hour.
Long time season ticket holder Lee Smith said it was his most memorable game, before it even started:
“The water was pushing us. We were forced down the aisle. This will be the most memorable game. We were laughing all the way down.”
