At the end of June, the Golden State Warriors sent shockwaves through the NBA, when they acquired Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards in a blockbuster trade. The deal sent Jordan Poole, a top-20 protected 2030 first-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick to Washington in exchange for Paul.
Paul, 37, is a 12-time All-Star, a 10-time All-NBA selection, and one of the best point guards in NBA history, who is known for his leadership, passing, and clutch play.
The point guard gives the Warriors another playmaker and scorer, and he will also help to solidify their defense. Paul is also a proven winner, and he has a history of leading teams to the playoffs.
The trade is a sign that the Warriors are still in win-now mode. They are not content to just compete for a playoff spot. They want to win another championship, and they believe that Chris Paul is the player who can help them achieve their goal.
Warriors forward Draymond Green didn’t hide his well-documented feelings about his new teammate, and admitted that he still feels that same way about CP3 as ever, and that him becoming his teammate hasn’t change that.
“I’ve publicly said I didn’t like Chris [Paul] before, I’m just not going to be like, ‘Oh man that changed now he my teammate,’ No, I look forward to talking amongst men,”
But Green also revealed that his goal is to help Paul win his first championship.

Green now explained where his hate towards Chris Paul comes from, while also giving CP3 his flowers… at least somewhat.
Per ESPN:
“A guy that’s at the center of everything. At the center of every play, what the other team is running at the center of their defense, talking on both ends of the floor, working the referees, working our coach, working players in the middle of every tussle. Battling. Elbowing. Nasty… Of course, you’re going to hate him [as an opponent]. And if you don’t, guess what? You’ll lose to him. We’ve seen a bunch of guys lose to him as well.”
