Earlier this week, we reported about former NBA forward Brandon Hunter, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 42.
Hunter was a second-round pick of the Boston Celtics in the 2003 NBA draft. He played for the Celtics and the Orlando Magic in his brief NBA career, averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
Other news outlets obviously reported about his tragic death, too, but Microsoft’s MSN added a cruel and gruesome twist. They published a seemingly AI-generated article that included the worst of mistakes and was just disrespectful towards Hunter and his friends and family. It even used the word “useless” to describe him in its headline.
Per Futurism:
“Brandon Hunter useless at 42,” read the article, which was quickly called out on social media. The rest of the brief report is even more incomprehensible, informing readers that Hunter “handed away” after achieving “vital success as a ahead [sic] for the Bobcats” and “performed in 67 video games.”
Well, maybe AI should not be writing obituaries.
