Last year, HBO’s Showtime Lakers series, ‘Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty’, made some major headlines. But not only due to the fact that many fans watched and loved it, but also because of the Lakers legends that are portrayed in the show, aren’t happy with it.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar blasted the show, and Jerry West demanded a retraction and an apology for ‘a baseless and malicious assault’ on his character, and even threatened Supreme Court action.

This year’s second season was equally as good for fans, if not even better, but less controversial, which led to much less criticism by former players. Lakers owner Jeanie Buss even revealed that she was a big fan of how her late father, Jerry Buss, was being portrayed.

But even though the show was a success, it has officially come to an end. Shortly after the season two finale premiered, it was announced that there would be no season three, and the show was canceled.
