NBA History was written in last night’s game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. But while the game was pretty intense and equally as exciting, the history part didn’t have to do with any of the game action.
The game however was an all-female broadcast, as ESPN had Beth Mowins as play-by-play commentator with Doris Burke on color commentary and Cassidy Hubarth taking on sideline responsibilities.
While it wasn’t the first time for an NBA game to have an all-female on-air broadcast team, it was the first such game that wasn’t used to to celebrate Women’s History Month, or National Girls and Women in Sports Day. No special reason, simply three very talented women.
