Every NBA All-Star Weekend brings a spectacle of skills, dunks, and dazzling displays of athleticism. But in 2018, something unexpected happened that had the basketball world buzzing for a different reason. Fergie, the Grammy-winning artist known for her sultry vocals and hits like “Fergalicious,” took center stage to perform the national anthem, and let’s just say it was a moment we won’t soon forget.
Fergie’s rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” during the NBA All-Star Game was nothing short of unique and had fans both baffled and amused. Even the players couldn’t help it and reactions spanned from a mix of surprise, suppressed laughter, to trying to maintain their game faces.
Everybody likely assumed that such hilarious moment was a one time thing, but they forgot about the Milwaukee Bucks. Someone had the glorious idea of asking Flavor Flav to perform the pre-game anthem, and Flav didn’t disappoint one bit. Definitely my favorite moment of this young season.
“The anthem was a long time bucket list item … that was fun! I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me,” Flavor wrote on X. “I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing things I wanna do. Some people might not like that. But a sure failure is if you stop trying.”
Fergie who?
Wer auch immer in Milwaukee es für ne gute Idee hielt, Flavor Flav die Nationalhymne singen zu lassen…. ICH DANKE DIR! Tränen gelacht. pic.twitter.com/w8INsNns0k— Len Werle (@RealLennyCarlos) October 30, 2023
