Peja Stojakovic was one of the top shooters in the game, an excellent free throw shooter with excellent ball handling ability.

Peja was an All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 2004, won back-to-back 3-point contests in 2002 and 2003, and won the NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011.

On November 14, 2006, 17 years ago today, when Stojakovic was playing for the New Orleans Hornets, he became the first player in NBA history to start a game off by scoring 20 consecutive points for his team. He set a New Orleans Hornets record of 22 points in the first quarter and went on to score a career-high 42 points.
