Draymond Green was the talk of the town after a scuffle in the Minnesota Timberwolves-Golden State Warriors game featured him putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock. In the aftermath, Green was ejected from the game and subsequently received a five-game suspension from the NBA.
Known for his aggressiveness and emotional demeanor, Green has a reputation for controversial and dirty plays. His antics often draw criticism from fans, and the recent altercation with Gobert, who was trying to bridge the situation, was no exception.
So it isn’t all too surprising that Draymond Green doesn’t regret the actions that landed him the suspension.
Per ESPN:
“I don’t live my life with regrets,” Green said after practice, the first time he has spoken to reporters since his suspension. “I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense. … What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost. How are the people that I care about affected? How are the people I care about, what do they have to deal with? That’s it for me.”
Green will return in the Warriors’ game against the Sacramento King on Tuesday, and the Warriors are more than looking forward to welcoming their defensive anchor back, as they have lost eight of their past 11 games, and four of five games without Green.
