The Dallas Mavericks spent most of last season cruising along as a borderline playoff team in the Western Conference. Acquiring Kyrie Irving before the NBA trade deadline, the Mavericks themselves even believed that they were in line to become a legitimate threat in the NBA playoffs.
But in a sudden turn of events, the Mavericks fond themselves pictured out of the play-in tournament, therefore disappointingly missing out on the playoffs.
The Mavericks ran things back with Irving and Doncic this season, and thankfully for everyone involved, having a little patience turned out to be the right call.
The Mavs are currently third in the Western Conference, and have started their season with a 11-6 record. After their win over the Houston Rockets last night, reporter Tim McMahon asked Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd about what made the Mavericks become a much better team in clutch situations, compared to last season, following the Irving trade.
Kidd didn’t like the negative connotation of the question, and gave an expletive-filled, passive agressive answer, before walking out of his press conference.
