Trey Lyles’ Punch On Jonas Valanciunas Goes Unpunished In In-Season Tournament

A controversial moment occurred in last night’s In-Season Tournament quarterfinal game between the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans. In the second quarter of the game, Kings forward Trey Lyles threw a punch at the head of Pelicans big man Jonas Valanciunas.

The punch was clearly caught on camera, and it appeared that Lyles made contact with Valanciunas’ head. However, surprisingly, Lyles was not ejected from the game. He was only assessed a “technical foul for a physical taunt.”
