Despite struggling since the in-season tournament and being the 10th seed in the Western Conference right now, the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t lost their appeal, with fans and basketball pundits alike hoping that they’ll make major moves to maximize their superstars’ production.
Amid the discussions surrounding the Lakers and the fact that the league is now on the trading period, Heavy.com’s Josh Buckhalter weighed in on the Lakers’ trade plans and proposed a trade that would send Pascal Siakam and Dennis Schroder to the Lakers.
Siakam has thrived with the Toronto Raptors this season, enjoying a production of 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game on 52.3% shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Schroder already has extensive experience playing with the Lakers which makes him an ideal trade target.
Per Heavy Sports:
The Lakers have practiced patience. But the January 15 expiration date for restrictions on players like Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves is fast approaching.
Perhaps this hypothetical trade for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam is worth exploring.
Lakers get:
– Pascal Siakam
– Dennis Schroder
Raptors get:
– D’Angelo Russell
– Rui Hachimura
– Jalen Hood-Schifino
– 2029 first-round pick
