During his postgame press conference after last night’s game, Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic was absolutley fuming, and expressed his frustration with the officials’ calls in their close 132-131 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Rajakovic believed that the whistle was heavily biased towards the Lakers, especially in the final moments of the game. The Lakers were awarded 23 free throws in the fourth quarter, while the Raptors only had two. The Serbian coach passionately criticized the referees for their decisions.
“It’s a shame for the league to allow this. Twenty-three free throws for them and we get two free throws in the fourth quarter. Like, how to play the game? I understand, respect for all the All-Stars but we have star players in our team as well. How would you explain that to me? They had to win tonight. Then if that’s the case, just let us know so that we don’t show up for the game. Just give them the win.”
