Since returning from a cardiac arrest, Bronny James has found himself firmly back in the spotlight. Across five games with the USC Trojans, he’s averaged 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game on 36.4% shooting from the field.
Bronny’s current performance paints him as a potential one-and-done prospect, likely landing in the mid to late first round of the NBA draft. While he may not be the standout star in terms of production and draft stock, Bronny garners considerable attention and is a focal point of discussions, primarily due to being the son of the four-time NBA champion LeBron James.
Adding his voice to the discussions surrounding Bronny, former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas weighed in on the 19-year-old’s talent and potential trajectory. According to Arenas, Bronny appears to be a more athletic version of renowned NBA defensive specialist Jrue Holiday.
“Bronny…he’s a Jrue Holiday, just more athletic,” Arenas said. “If he turns on his tiger, for sure. He just plays the right way… He has the Bugatti engine, but he wants to drive the speed limit,” Arenas added. “He don’t want a ticket. ‘I don’t want a ticket.’ That’s how he uses his body.”
