Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ All-Star guard, will officially have a 3-point contest with and against Sabrina Ionescu, All-Star guard for the New York Liberty.
The two-time WNBA All-Star won the WNBA’s 3-point contest last season, hitting 37 of 40 shots (92.5 percent) to set an all-time record.
She then challenged Curry to a duel and five months later, the four-time NBA champion said he wanted the chance to go one-on-one against Ionescu.
“Do you know who holds the record for the most points in a 3-point competition?” Curry asked his teammate Brandin Podziemsk.
“…I think I gotta bring her out and be like, we gotta settle this once and for all. I think I gotta challenge her. It’d be lit.”
The 3-point contest between the two has now been confirmed. During the All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, Curry will shoot form the NBA 3-point line with NBA size basketballs, while Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA size basketballs.
Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu on All-Star Saturday night is official:
Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line with NBA basketballs, and Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA basketballs. Both will receive money for their charities.
