Two weeks ago, Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith was involved in a car crash, after the game against the Orlando Magic. Highsmith hit a person who was helping another driver stuck in the middle of the road.
The person who was hit suffered a partial amputation of his leg and is in critical condition. Highsmith was not injured and was not arrested in the incident. Highsmith was not suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash, and police said he was driving at around 45 mph.
The victim however, now filed a lawsuit alleging Highsmith to barrel into him at a high rate of speed, claiming Highsmith was going over the roadway’s legal speed limit before he hit him.
