John Wall Says The NBA Has Become Tough To Watch Due To Players No Longer Playing Defense

John Wall, a defensive force during his playing days, knows a thing or two about stopping opponents. He made the All-Defensive second team and still holds the NBA record for most blocks by a point guard.

He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers last season where he averaged 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Now, after a decade in the league, Wall has a strong opinion on the current state of NBA, specifically when it comes to defense.

Everyone’s talking about the decline of defense in the NBA, and Wall shares the same sentiment. The former All-Star says it’s tough to watch the NBA these days because players just don’t play defense anymore.

“Nobody is playing defense,” Wall said. “The NBA…the game just changed so much. It’s hard to watch. It’s hard to watch because nobody’s playing defense. It’s a lot of shots, and it just – for me, it’s like goin’ and playin’ pickup.”
