Has Jalen Brunson Surpassed Stephen Curry This Season? Kendrick Perkins Shares His Take

Jalen Brunson is making waves this season, leading the New York Knicks up the Eastern Conference playoff ladder. He’s averaging a solid 27.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game on 47.8% shooting from the field.

Brunson’s strong play and the Knicks’ success have sparked debate about his place among the best point guards in the NBA today. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Stephen Curry are currently considered the favorites, a few, like former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins, believe Brunson belongs in the conversation.

Perkins, now an NBA analyst, loves to chime in all sorts of controversial topics. This time, he dropped a real head-scratcher by stating he’d pick Brunson over both Gilgeous-Alexander and Curry.

“No disrespect to Steph Curry. No disrespect to SGA. But I’m not taking anybody over Jalen Brunson…Right now he is the best point guard in the game in my opinion when it comes to being a floor manager and a floor general.”
