Victor Wembanyama has quickly become one of the most talked-about players this season. As the No. 1 overall pick, he entered the NBA amidst much hype and has since validated that enthusiasm with his incredible performances, showcasing his skills on both ends of the floor.
In fact, his performance this season has not only grabbed the attention of fans but also his fellow players. Several have been throwing props his way, with former NBA superstar Kevin Garnett being the latest to offer his praises.
On his podcast ‘Ticket and Truth’, Garnett revealed how incredibly impressed he is with the young star, who, according to Garnett, is changing the center position.
“Wemby’s been looking crazy man. You remember when started shooting the long ball and everybody was like like “ooh and “ahh”? He’s brought a different mix, a different effect to the center spot. Not only is he moving and growing the game but he making the five damn near look like the three. Wemby is damn near KD I’m the five. He’s bringing a dynamic to the five that if you can’t slide or move your feet, it’s gonna be hard.”
Buckle up. Wemby’s lifting off.
Even with the lofty expectations, @KevinGarnett5KG is floored by what he’s seeing from @wemby in his rookie year. Salute, Victor.
