Several veteran NBA players have recently suggested that they would be more successful in today’s NBA. Whether this is because of their competitive pride or an observed decline in defense is up in the air, but the sentiment appears widespread.
The latest to join the chorus is former No.2 overall pick Michael Beasley. Coming into the league, Beasley was highly touted for his offense. But his impact was never huge, averaging only 12.4 points per game throughout his career.
Last played in the 2019 season where he averaged just 7.0 points on 5.9 shots, Beasley now believes he could average 25 points on just 10 shots in today’s NBA.
“They don’t work on their game no more.”
