Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has become a big name in college basketball. Catching everyone off guard, he recently declared for the 2024 NBA Draft after just one season at Southern California.
Bringing in something extra to his approach, Bronny will also enter the NCAA transfer portal. This allows him to maintain his college eligibility, presenting him with the choice to either pursue a professional career or return to college basketball.
Now, fans and analysts have mixed reactions on Bronny’s decision. Many think Bronny’s freshman year wasn’t good enough and he might not be ready for the NBA. However, some, like former Golden State Warriors star Baron Davis, support his decision.
Speaking to TMZ recently, Davis made it clear that he likes Bronny’s decision to declare for the draft. Aware of Bronny’s college performance, Davis believes the young player could potentially thrive more as a professional athlete.
“I think for him to declare for the draft will be good because he may be a better pro than he is a college player,” Davis told TMZ Sports. “The program is a lot different. It’s more free-flowing. You’re not coached every moment. You’re not playing zone all the time.”
