Miami Heat Touted As Potential Landing Spot For Zach Edey

While the NBA has drifted towards floor-spacing centers like Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren, Kristaps Porzingis and Karl-Anthony Towns, Purdue center Zach Edey has a chance to disrupt the modern trend with his impressive low-post scoring ability.

There’s no denying Edey’s dominance. Edey was one of the best college players this season, leading Purdue all the way to the NCAA championship game. Though they fell short, he is entering the NBA with a winning record and impressive postseason averages of 29.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

A lot of discussion surrounds where Edey will end up in the NBA and which teams could utilize his skillset. NBA analyst Nick Wright mentioned the Miami Heat as a team that could make sense for the 7-foot-4 center.

“Bam can kinda extend the floor, I know he’s not the greatest shooter and Edey can play down low,” Wright said about Edey’s fit on the Heat’s roster. “I think there’s a place for him.”
