Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy undoubtedly wants a Lakers victory in their first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. However, his loyalty doesn’t prevent him from recognizing talent. Worthy, like many Lakers supporters, just couldn’t resist offering praise to Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic.
Jokic has consistently impressed everyone, and in Saturday’s Game 1 against the Lakers, he reminded everyone of his capabilities. He dropped a dominant 32 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists on a blistering 65.2% shooting from the field, propelling the Nuggets to a 1-0 series lead.
Witnessing another Jokic masterpiece, Worthy was specifically impressed by the Serbian center’s ability to be both a floor general who facilitates for others and a dominant post scorer. This now led him to compare the Nuggets superstar to two of his legendary former Lakers teammates.
“To me, Jokic is Magic Johnson and Kareem on the floor at the same time.”
James Worthy on greatness of Jokic:
“To me Jokic is Magic Johnson & Kareem on the floor at the same time.”
