Kevin Porter Jr. seemed on an upward trajectory upon joining the Houston Rockets. There, he found the opportunities he sought and emerged as a key figure in their offense. However, everything took a sharp turn when Porter was arrested due to a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, just before the 2023-24 NBA season began.
Following his arrest, Porter hasn’t seen any court time in the NBA. Traded from the Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder, he was subsequently waived and is no longer affiliated with an NBA team.
Currently, Porter is reviving his career overseas. Having signed with Greek club PAOK BC, the former Rockets guard has been thriving and recently helped the team secure a playoff spot in the Greek League playoffs. But despite his current success overseas, Porter makes it clear that he hasn’t abandoned his desire for an NBA comeback.
“If I have [the] opportunity to go back to the NBA, then I’ll probably go back to the NBA. If it’s not the NBA, I don’t want to play for no other club than PAOK.”
